The Ocean 2 by Virgin Mobile
In March, I was looking at new phones and I decided to purchase the much anticipated Ocean 2 which was supposed to be really awesome. Soon after I bought it, it came out that the phone had a problem with power cycling and the manufacturer stopped making it (they still offer the original Ocean which this phone was supposed to be an upgrade for.) My phone, shockingly, power cycled. I called Virgin Mobile regarding the issue and they guided me through a series of different kinds of resets over the course of several months. Finally, they agreed to send me a warranty replacement. That phone also power cycled and the sliders were also stuck so I called for another replacement. Three replacements later, Virgin Mobile is refusing to offer me another phone or my money back or to let me out of my contract. My only option is to continue to send the phone back until I get one that is fine (though they admit that the phone is no longer in production and they are just cycling through customer returned phones that WERE RETURNED FOR THIS PROBLEM. In fact, the rep today told me that I have already had both of the ones they have available). They refused to even give me a discount on another phone, which would have been useless to me anyway because the only 2 phones available are the original Ocean which is so 2007 and a phone without a full keyboard and we all know that I can't have that. They won't even waive my cancellation fees, so if I want to cancel, I lose the $150 I paid for this phone, have to pay a cancellation fee, and then have to buy a new phone. This is so ridiculous and contrary to good customer service that it blows my mind. And it pisses me the fuck off.
